Counseling: In Person And Online
We are offer counseling via online, phone and email. Ustadha Noor graduated with an M.A. in psychology from Columbia University, she is not a licensed psychologist. However with her background in psychology and traditional Islamic knowledge her intention is to use her acquired skills to help clients deal with various life issues.
Who would this service be ideal for?
-New Muslims transitioning from their former faith to Islam and in need of spiritual guidance and practical help
-Women coming of age and trying to deal with the various life challenges including but not limited to; practicing Islam, wearing hijab, dealing with parents, issues at work or difficulties in your community
-Someone who needs help in making difficult decisions
-Various categories that would generally fall in to ‘life problems’
Important note: Our sessions are 100% confidential with the **exception** of criminal offenses or grossly immoral injustices, which we are morally obliged to report and/or seek outside assistance.
Note on confidentiality: Counseling notes are not saved anywhere, the only record of our consultation will be Ustadha Noor’s physical notes, in order to further guide the consultation. Counseling sessions will never be recorded with electronic devices, physical notes are kept in a confidential area in which no one but Ustadha Noor can access.
Our Approach: Our approach to counseling will be a combination of psycho-education and psychoanalysis. In simple terms this means we focus a lot on active listening and assigning various books, articles, essays, etc. that will help the client gain insight in to their particular issue and lead to potential breakthroughs. We guarantee to bring our best selves and work with you to bring out your best potential in each session.

Client Commitment (Skype/ Phone): Once approved for counseling clients must commit to four consistent weekly one hour sessions, clients will be sent their invoice ($160) which must be paid three days in advance of the first session. Clients can be reschedule their session in a given week but the session may not be reschedule outside that given week or outside the four week schedule. This level of commitment is a part of the process in helping a client reach their best potential.
Client Commitment (Email): Once approved for counseling clients must commit to four weeks of email correspondence (up to three email exchanges per week), clients will be sent their invoice ($120) which must be paid three days in advance of their first email correspondence. Each week clients can correspond up to three times about a given issue. This level of commitment is a part of the process in helping a client reach their best potential
Refund policy: Clients can receive refunds up to three days before their first email correspondence/ counseling session.
