Methods in Counseling
About this course:
In this short course, we’ll cover a few key counseling methods, how to apply them to everyday life and how these tools can enhance our communities. We will utilize psychoanalytical theory and methods from person-centered therapy.
Whether you’re a parent, youth leader, Imam, community member, spouse or friend, many of us find ourselves at some point being in the position of counselor. Having useful tools from the psychological community based on theory, experience, and research can help us improve our ability to counsel others in their time of need.

About our teacher:
Nuriddeen Knight graduated with an M.A. in psychology from Columbia University with a focus on child and family. She’s given lectures on Psychology in Islam, Marital Conflict, Personal Happiness and several Islamic lectures, she also offers online counseling and has previously counseled women in her local Masjid in Brooklyn, NY.

This course will be delivered online in four recorded lectures and two live sessions, there will also be an optional Facebook group where students can ask questions or comment on lessons.
